We all start off feeling a little sluggish in January- your employees are no exception. They’ve had time to rest, relax, and enjoy and may not be so excited about returning to work. For that reason (and more), it’s important to do what you can to get them back into the mix.

Here are five ways that you can make your employees fall back in love with their jobs while boosting their productivity in the process:

  1. Ease them in. Chances are, their schedules are completely out of whack. Give them some flexibility as they ease back into their daily routines. They’ll thank you for it.
  2. Plan some fun. One of the things employees like most about their workplace is the camaraderie and connections they create there. Provide your team with a chance to bond again in the new year by planning some fun activities for them. Get creative with your team-building options here.
  3. Introduce a new project. Nothing renews one’s energy like launching into an exciting new project. Tackling something fresh will be invigorating and breathe new life into your employees’ old routine.
  4. Treat them. Show you care with small treats- cookies, donuts, and other items. Doing so will help take some of the sting out of your team’s transition away from the holidays.
  5. Show you care. You can demonstrate how much you care about your employees in a number of ways, but the best include engaging with them frequently and being empathetic. The more you show you care, the more they will care too.
